You’ll be able to wander among capybaras, squirrel monkeys, scarlet macaws, and more in this special free-roaming enclosure, but please remember to be respectful and follow the rules to keep both you and the animals safe! Amazonia Encounters is open daily from 10:30am to 6:00pm (last entry 6pm).

Join our Amazonia inhabitants for their lunch snack, with exclusive keeper-led feeding sessions. Meet some of our incredible animals including the Silver Arowana, White-face Saki Monkey, Azara’s Agouti and more! Starts at Mini Monkeys Exhibit and ends at Amazonia Encounters Daily 12:15pm (animal conditions and weather conditions) Amazon Flooded Forest When the forests along the Amazon’s banks become submerged in over 10 metres of water, manatees, arapaimas and other riverine creatures take the cue to gorge themselves on the forest’s abundant resources and build fat reserves. These reserves will tide them over the dry season, when food is scarce.

Drop by the World’s largest freshwater aquarium to uncover the wonders of the Amazon from our dedicated Animal Care staff. Follow us on a guided trail where you’ll learn fascinating facts about our incredible residents such as the manatees, giant river otters and electric eel. Starts at Discus Exhibit and ends at Giant Otter Exhibit (Upper level) Daily 3:30pm (animal conditions and weather conditions) Congo River Going beyond 220m in some parts, the Congo River is the world’s deepest river. It rages through violent rapids and makes multiple drops to form magnificent waterfalls. But below its troubled surface lies a hidden world of serene beauty — this exhibit has some of the most colourful fish you’ve seen.

Get closer than ever while our expert aquarists share intriguing facts about the river-dwelling inhabitants from the different rivers of the world! Starts at Elephantnose Fish (Near Congo River) Exhibit and ends at Mekong Giant Catfish Exhibit Daily 2:15pm (animal conditions and weather conditions) Ganges River Immerse yourself in the rich undergrowth of the rainforest as you navigate fallen trees, discover unique flora, and enjoy close encounters with free- roaming mousedeer and tortoises. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a tiger strolling behind the bamboo fence!
Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest The largest panda exhibit built in Southeast Asia, this exhibit spans 1,500m2. Simulating the bears’ natural habitat with lush plantings, boulders and water features, the state-of-the-art biodome is also temperature- and humidity-controlled to ensure the pandas’ comfort. Giant Panda Forest is open daily from 10:00am to 6:15pm (last entry 6.15pm).
Mary River The Mary Catchment Area is a biodiversity hotspot, home to unique aquatic species found nowhere else. This exhibit follows the Mary River's journey, transitioning from freshwater to brackish water, and finally to saltwater as it meets the sea.
Mekong River Fed by melting snow, the Mekong rises from the Tibetan plateau, journeying through six countries before entering the South China Sea. With an output of 2.5 million tonnes of fish a year, it is the most productive river in the world. Over 4,300km long, it is also the tenth largest river.
Nile River Springing from East Africa’s Great Lakes and emptying into the Mediterranean Sea, the Nile has been bringing life and wealth into Egypt since the Stone Age. You’ll be transported back to ancient Egypt at this exhibit, which plays host to creatures as spectacular as they’re savage.
River Gems Although freshwater habitats make up less than one percent of the Earth’s surface area, they support 45% of all fish species. River Gems offers a glimpse of the amazing diversity of plant and animal life that thrive in rivers and along their banks.
Yangtze River The 6,300-kilometre-long Yangtze, or ‘Chang Jiang’ (meaning ‘long river’ in Chinese), is the longest river in Asia and holds 40 percent of China’s freshwater. Millions of people and a host of unique wildlife, from the ancient sturgeon to the reclusive giant panda, depend on the Yangtze for life.
